Guitar Slide diameter?

I’ve been wanting to make a guitar slide from an empty vodka bottle I found. I have a glass cutter and sandpaper, so it shouldn’t be too hard. Just wondering if it’s the right diameter? The opening is just 1/16th over one inch. As for my fingers, they’re pretty average for a 16 year old male.

As long as you can safely cut off the neck, remove the sharp edges and it slips on to your slide finger easily, that’s all that matters. This is how the original slides were made. This is why playing slide blues is often referred to as “bottlenecking”.
