Guitar Machines

What kind of anti-theft devices are on the synths and drum machines at Guitar Center?
I’ve been wondering about this for a while now. They stick to the item and when they’re disconnected from it an alarm goes off. How does this work?
The part that is sticking to it has a button on it, that when pressed against something, i this case a drum machine, it basically creates a circuit. When you pull it off, it breaks the circuit, kind of like when you open the car door, the lights go on. Only in this case when you release the button, an alarm goes off.
