Free Advertising Without The Spam
Category: Free Advertising | Oct 21, 2009 |

At the time of writing, I did a quick search of Google for free advertising and the results where amazing, 352,000,000, three hundred and fifty two million. So, where would you start and how could you be sure that you were going to get results without all the usual spam that follows.
The simple answer is, you can’t. There is no way that you can even try to use any of the advertising on offer without the accompanying spam and there is also no guarantees that any of this free advertising will be effective in driving traffic to your website.
Bearing all this in mind, what options do you have to drive free traffic to your business, without the spam and, where you have complete control of the type of traffic and the content of your sales message.
You have to look away from the current results on Google and take advantage of a new and upcoming system which guarantees no spam and also allows you full control over the sales message you use to draw that free traffic.
You have to look towards a Search Sub Engine. Rotata allows you to list the details of your site, business, affiliate scheme, blog or whatever it may be that you wish to drive targeted free traffic to. You list your business for free for anything between 1 and 28 days and you can list it as often as you wish and in as many categories as suit your product.
Once listed, Rotata will gradually push your listing up towards the top result for your category and as you reach the top, if you have got your sales copy right the traffic will follow.
The problem with most free advertising methods is that you only get one shot at a two line advert to try and fully explain your offer, with Rotata it’s much better. Yes, you get your two lines, but your two lines lead to a full page where you have the unrivalled opportunity to fully sell your product and within that page you have a live link direct to your website to enable you to make the sale.
During your listing period if you feel at any time that your headline, sub headline and or your landing page are not having the desired effect you can change them at will until you are fully satisfied, and you are happy with the results that follow.
Each listing also gets a hit counter on the landing page so you know exactly how effective your message is. And, the visitors to Rotata and your listing are fully targeted, they are looking for your product by category, so as your listing approaches the top search results for the category you can’t help but get targeted traffic.
This is free advertising at its best, with an abundance of useful tools at your disposal to ensure you get the most from your listing and when you consider that its guaranteed spam free, not to mention that it guarantees to eventually show your listing in the #1 position for you category, it has to be the best deal in free advertising available on the Internet at the moment.
Search Sub Engines are only just beginning to gain popularity, but unlike other forms of free advertising which are less effective the more popular they are, the complete opposite can be said of Rotata. the more popular it becomes the more traffic it will generate and the more targeted visitors you will receive to your business.

I would go with Google Adwords. This will get you some targeted traffic (resulting in people wanting to be at your site) and quick. Be sure to monitor your hits so that you can shut it down when you don't want to spend anymore money.
Getting traffic is a combination of a lot of things. The key to success is to create great content that visitors want to use, search engines will love and other websites will naturally link to. Of course, it's easier said than done.
You can use pay per click advertising in the search engines to reach audiences looking for your products. You can use Google Adwords http://www.google.com/adwords or Yahoo http://searchmarketing.yahoo.com . PPC is not free, but highly effective in bringing in targeted audience especially for an ecommerce operation.
Here are some shoestring marketing ideas that can help you get the visitors you need at the least cost possible:
1. Create the best content you can with the best products you can possibly offer. Your content is your best advertisement – if visitors love your content, then they will go back and spread the word to others.
2. Make it easy for users to recommend your site. Viral marketing is very important — and easy to tap on the Web. But give your users the tools. Get a Recommend this Site script from websites such as cgiscripts.com and similar directories of scripts. Some even go as far as giving incentives to those who recommend the site to their friends. If only 10 people go to your site, but these 10 people invite 10 more – that's additional traffic that you get for FREE!

3. Rank well in the search engines (organic search results, not the pay per click). SEs can be a big source of traffic. The key is to create the best content in your niche. If you have good content, other websites will gladly link to you and offer your site as a resource to their audience. Check the on-page factors and be sure to get linked from authority sites in your topic area.

4. Send out press releases. While outfits charge as much as $650 per release, there are free press release submission places on the Web. Press releases allow you to (a) attract media attention; (b) get more back links to your website without sending each website an email request; and (c) get more visibility especially if your press release gets in Google News or Yahoo News.

5. Submit articles. Write articles and submit them to websites accepting author submissions. You get exposure for your business; establishes you as an authority in your field, and allows you to get backlinks for your website. If 50 websites publish your article and it contains a link back to your website, then you easily get 50 links from a single article. The more links you have, the greater your chances for increasing your search engine rankings.

Your email offer sounds like a typical business to business email – not spam. Even though "harvesting" email addresses is against the law there is nothing wrong with finding contact email addresses on websites and sending them a message. That is a lot differant than using a "spider" to grab any and all addresses it finds anywhere online.
The law is a little vague and if you are really concerned you should consult legal advice as well as the govt websites. Keep in mind laws vary by country, the UK is stricter than the US.
Very few legitimate companies are being sued for spam violations and as long as you send a message that is relevant and follows best practices (return address, mailing address, opt-out option) you should have nothing to worry about. You can learn more about B2B email best practices here: http://www.email-marketing-reports.com
Okay. Near as I can tell, you think you are being discriminated against in the hiring process at Purdue Cytometry. You are posting numerous questions containing a jumble of copy pulled from numerous sources without giving us any reference as to where they can come and how each part relates to any other part.
The result is incomprehensible.
If you have not been hired, or you have been fired, please consider that it may be due to your complete inability to express yourself in a way that can be understood. That is not illegal discrimination.
EDIT – what you appear to want is the right to access a private member mailing list to sell your own software. You don't have that right. And you certainly don't have the right to hack into the Purdue system in search of hidden code that will give you access to their mailing list after you have been denied. You appear to be breaking the law and posting proof of your crimes all over Yahoo Answers. It might be a good time to quit while you are ahead.
agreed, something needs to be done. also, any cowboy (cowgirl?) boots made out of real leather. maybe something from steve madden
Depending on how much information you gave them, they may try to bill your phone company directly. The phone company will then pass that bill along to you in your monthly charges.
Do NOT hesitate on this, otherwise you could get stuck.
IMMEDIATELY call your phone provider. Tell them what just happened and that you were scammed into some service. Make sure they document your call and your request not to honor the claim from the scam company. Make sure you have them e-mail or send you proof of your call and any action they took. That way if the phone company screws up, you have proof of action and a means of legal recourse.
After you get done with your (legit) phone company, look for any information you can find on the company you filled out the bogus form for. Call them ASAP and demand to cancel the service immediately.
Finally, make sure you save any and all documentation you sent to the bogus company. Submit anything you can to the Better Business Bureau and, if you're really nervous, the Federal Trade Commission.
The more action you take NOW, the more firepower you'll have in your corner should you need to fight this charge later. If you just wait around to see if they really try to bill you it will already be too late.
It's unfortunate that a moment's mistake is going to lead to a bit of legwork on your part… but it will be worth it to secure your identity and your credit rating.
Good luck!
