Guitar Metronome
Is practicing guitar with a metronome absolutely necessary?
Because it’s killing me and I hate having to do it.
I’m not entirely unable to keep time; I play drums too and I use a metronome when I practice on those. That’s no problem, but playing guitar with a metronome is making me want to set it on fire and ditch guitar forever.
Not only is it not absolutely necessary, I don’t even think it’s a good idea. It puts too much pressure on someone who’s learning who has enough other things to keep track of. Once you are more skilled it might be fun to try it again but for now, lose the metronome.
