Can you play the Guitar Hero pc game the usual pc controller or is there a special guitar hero pc controller n?

I have a logiteck controller usb for my laptop, just wondering if i need a special controller.
I blew my xbox and i miss playin the game so much, plus av never tried it before without the guitar but, using the controller is better than nothing i suppose.
