What music composing software was that?

A few years ago I went to Soundhouse at the Arts Centre in Melbourne, and used a music composing program where you were able to play something on a keyboard connected to the computer and it would appear on the program (the thing you played I mean). You could also change the keyboard to things like guitar, drums, special effects, pretty much anything. Does it sound familiar to anyone?

Might have been Garage Band if it was a Mac computer or maybe Sony Acid if it was a Windows comp.
